Joseph "Joe" G. Riley was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s and 1910s who at representative level played for Great Britain, England, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Halifax, playing at Centre, i.e. number 3 or 4. After completing his playing career he went on to coach the newly formed Halifax RUFC (formed 1919) with fellow Halifax legend Archibald "Archie" Rigg.
